Har ki Dun Trek
Located in the Govind Wildlife Sanctuary, Har Ki Dun is a scenic trek in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand. Covering 25 km in 2-3 days, the windmill winds from Sankari to Taluka through picturesque villages like Gangad and Osla. The valley, which translates as the Valley of Gods and has a cultural significance as the rhythm of Har Ki Dun matched by the festive rhythms welcoming Lord Someshwar, offers a glimpse of the first peak of the valley and the lake is silently known as Marinda Tal. The best months for trekking are May to June and September, reflecting the different weather conditions in the valley. Summer reveals a warm earthiness, while autumn offers cinnamon-colored har ki dun. This downhill trek to Marinda Lake or Hata Valley culminates in a 7-day trek from Sankari to Dehradun, suitable for adults aged 9 and above
